dealing with all types of animals (domesticated, and un-domesticated).
Growing up in the Texas hill country
with my family brought us many interesting experiences with all sorts of animals. My family was always taking
in many kinds of stray, sick or abandoned animal(s) (wild life and domesticated), even a family of skunks. My
parents taught me how to love and respect all animal life when I was a child, so it was only natural when I grew up to want
to work with animals.
About 12 years ago, I got involved in a non-profit dog and cat rescue organization, and I
must say it was a learning experience. To see the troubles these animals go through first hand, is very saddening and
sometimes very over-whelming for all involved. I saw some wonderful pets that were dumped, abandoned, abused, and plain
old neglected. Needless to say I still have 3 at home with me, and I must tell you, they are all great dogs.
After 8 years of being in this organization, I decided it was time to move
on and decided to start an actual paying job, one that I could still be around animals, and pet families
who love them.
